Hoog bezoek vanochtend......

Buurmeisjes Mia en Camelia (ik denk iets van tien en vijf jaar) stonden voor onze deur.... met cadeautjes! Twee mooie platen van vlinders (de moeite waard om op te hangen)  en nog een geschilderd gipsen hart. Nou.... ik voelde me vereerd. De dames kwamen eens even kijken hoe het hier was...... Kleine Camelia kletste honderd uit, maar was niet te beroerd, als we het weer eens niet verstonden, om het nog een keertje ratelend te herhalen. Gelukkig konden we zo nu en dan wel wat woorden oppikken en begrepen we elkaar (meestal) wel. Met Mia ging het praten een stukje makkelijker en, zoals ze vertelde, ze had op school ook Engels, dus we konden ook wel in het Engels vragen als we elkaar niet begrepen... geweldig toch? Camelia wilde het huis wel eens bekijken en vroeg of ze ook boven mocht zien. Het was wel klein vond ze. Toen maar even uitgelegd dat we maar met z'n tweeen waren, plus de hond, en niet zoals zij thuis met z'n vieren met drie honden er ook nog bij...... jaaaa, dat begreep ze wel. En we hadden ook nog een huis in Nederland... dat vond ze ook wel heel interessant. Het werd een gezellig half uurtje.....toen kwam buurvrouw Claire de dames halen... 

Distinguished visitors this morning...... Neighbor girls Mia and Camelia (I think about ten and five years old) stood at our door.... with presents! Two beautiful pictures of butterflies (worth hanging up) and a painted plaster heart. Well.... I felt honored. The ladies came to take a look around here...... Little Camelia chattered away, but wasn't too shy to rattle off the words again whenever we didn't understand her. Fortunately, we were able to pick up a few words every now and then and (mostly) understood each other. Talking was a bit easier with Mia and, as she explained, she had English at school too, so we could ask in English if we didn't understand each other... great, right? Camelia wanted to take a look around the house and asked if she could see the upstairs as well. She thought it was quite small. So I just explained that it was just the two of us, plus the dog, and not like her at home, with four of us and three dogs on top of that... yessss, she understood that. And we also had a house in the Netherlands... she found that quite interesting too. It turned into a pleasant half hour... then neighbor Claire came to pick up the ladies...
