De laatste tijd ben ik mijn Frans weer wat aan het oppakken.... door alle drukte rondom mama kom ik aan zoooo weinig dingen toe. Ik heb nog altijd de wens om beter Frans te spreken, dus van de week maar weer eens wat chansons er bij gehaald. Het is leuk om via de muziek Frans te leren... een mooi chanson en dan de tekst leren en kijken hoe ver je komt met vertalen. Met de geschreven Franse tekst er bij gaat dat eigenlijk heel erg goed....alleen soms is het gesprokene vaak wel snel, maar met de Franse tekst erbij denk ik meestal: oooo zegt-ie dat.......?

Nou, mijn laatste project is "Belle" uit de musical "La Notre Dame de Paris" uit 1998 of zoiets. Ik was het lied al eens tegengekomen en toen vond ik het al prachtig dus had ik het nog weer eens opgezocht op You-tube...... Tekst erbij, die me niet meevalt om te onthouden, eerlijk gezegd. Qua vertalen is het niet moeilijk. En dan die prachtige muziek en..... niet te vergeten, een leuke bijkomstigheid... drie prachtige mannen........altijd leuk....Maar ook die stemmen. Aan die van Garou moest ik heel erg wennen, maar nu ik hem vaker hoor vind ik dat het toch wel wat heeft.... En dan Patrick Lavoie. Inmiddels is hij bijna 30 jaar ouder maar nog steeds heeft hij zo'n mooie stem. En dan Patrick Fiori!! Qua stem ben ik helemaal weg van hem. Ik had ooit op een brocante in Frankrijk al eens een stapel CD's gekocht en daar zat ook een CD van hem tussen. Die heb ik inmiddels grijs gedraaid. Drie geweldige zangers in één musical. En toen kon ik het niet laten om ook de musical op te zoeken, en laat deze nou in zijn geheel op You-tube staan... wel ruim twee uur....poehhhhh daar moet je eens even goed voor gaan zitten........ Van het weekend heb ik in stukjes gekeken.... zit nu op ongeveer een uur. Het fijne is dat er Franse ondertiteling bij zit en ik moet zeggen...hoe leuk is het dan dat je het helemaal kunt volgen. Ik probeer zoveel mogelijk te luisteren en als ik het niet helemaal begrijp zet ik de video stop en lees even de ondertiteling. Zo leuk om te doen en ik moet zeggen.... het gaat qua Frans erg goed.

Dus... een leuke tip om zo met je Frans bezig te zijn. Ik weet dat er ook veel Franse lessen worden gegeven op deze manier (Sylvain Lelarge o.a.). Het is echt leuk.... de prachtige muziek, de Franse taal (en ook nog leuke mannen😀).

Lately, I've been picking up my French again a bit... due to all the busyness surrounding Mom, I get around to sooooo little. I still have the desire to speak better French, so this week I dug out some French songs again. It's fun to learn French through music... a beautiful song, then learning the lyrics and seeing how far you get with translating. With the written French lyrics alongside, it actually works really well... only sometimes the spoken part is often quite fast, but with the French text I usually think: oh, is that what he's saying...? I once bought a stack of CDs at a flea market in France, and there was a CD of his among them. I’ve played that one to death by now. Three amazing singers in one musical. And then I couldn't resist looking up the musical as well, and lo and behold, it’s on YouTube in its entirety... well over two hours long....phew, you really have to sit down and watch that one........ I watched it in bits this weekend.... I'm at about an hour now. The nice thing is that it has French subtitles, and I have to say...how nice is it that you can follow it all the way through. I try to listen as much as possible, and if I don't quite understand, I pause the video and read the subtitles. It's so much fun to do, and I have to say... my French is going really well. So... a nice tip for working on your French this way. I know that many French lessons are taught this way too (Sylvain Lelarge, among others). It really is fun... the beautiful music, the French language (and nice men too 😀).
