Gisterochtend was ik bezig met het maken van lekkere dingetjes voor de lunch.... en aan zo'n lunch, zeker in deze pruimen-tijd, mag een pruimentaart niet ontbreken enne... in het land van de kazen hoort daar natuurlijk ook kaas in. De combinatie van pruimen en kaas, in dit geval brie, is heel lekker! Ik maakte dus een heerlijk brie-pruimentaart. Heel makkelijk te maken en erg lekker. Het is een beetje een aparte taart en ik vraag me nog steeds af of ik de taart nu moet scharen onder zoet of toch hartig? Ik vind het een lunch-gerecht bij uitstek. Gelukkig hebben we sinds een tijdje ook een "echte" losse oven hier. Ik moest het altijd doen met de oven in mijn gasfornuis en daarin werd alles geheid zwart, de temperatuur was nauwelijks te regelen en na tien minuten was mijn taart verbrand. Met deze losse oven, die in de Grange staat op de plek waar we ooit nog eens een tweede keuken willen maken omdat deze aan het terras-met-het-mooie-uitzicht grenst grenst, ben ik wel erg blij! Mijn taart zag er ook prima uit, wat zeg ik?? PRACHTIG uit toen ik hem uit de oven haalde. En hij smaakte heerlijk, ook niet onbelangrijk.......

Yesterday morning I was busy making some tasty things for lunch... and a lunch like this, especially in this plum season, simply cannot be complete without a plum tart, and... in the land of cheese, cheese is a must. The combination of plums and cheese, in this case brie, is absolutely delicious! So I made a delicious brie-plum tart. Very easy to make and very tasty. It's a bit of an unusual tart, and I'm still debating whether I should classify it as sweet or savory. I consider it the perfect lunch dish. Luckily, we've had a "real" freestanding oven here for a while now. I always had to make do with the oven in my gas stove, and everything would inevitably turn black in there, the temperature was almost impossible to regulate, and after ten minutes my tart was burnt. I'm really happy with this freestanding oven, which is located in the Grange in the spot where we eventually plan to build a second kitchen because it borders the terrace with the beautiful view! My cake looked fantastic, what can I say? BEAUTIFUL when I took it out of the oven. And it tasted delicious, which is also important...
