Do you ever feel that way? That you're overjoyed with something,
especially if it's something you "thought up" yourself? Well, I am, and
not too cheaply either... I'm quite proud of it... haha... and I've
barely done anything... so simple, after all...
Well... I recently received two fantastic wall lamps from Anita Hoornweg... she was clearing out in France, and who better to bring things to than me? I love cute things, and so I acquired oven mitts, a key cabinet, and a few other things. And so, two fantastic wall lamps. I immediately pictured them hanging above the bed in the guest room. Only... there was no electricity, so I'd have to run wires through the wall (milling them into the wall isn't an option), and that's not pretty. Then I had the brilliant idea to buy fake candles with remote controls. I took one lamp home so I could try them on and try them out. I ordered candles from my favorite online store, with a remote control... I taped all the electrical wires to the back, so I could eventually connect them to the power supply. With some paper at the bottom of the candles, I could securely fasten them in the holder (this is where you were supposed to screw a light bulb into). I took a picture of the wall to see how it would look on the wall, and then the ultimate moment... lighting the candles with the remote control... and yes... it worked! I think it's great fun, and in three weeks it's coming with me to France, where I'll hang it above the guest bed with its little buddy...
